Having the necessary amount of ID for things like changing your driver’s license is key. Remember, some of these documents can take time to process, so make these requests at least 3 months in advance.

2. Upload Medical Documents, Like Glasses and Contact Lens Prescriptions

You don’t know what will happen throughout your trip. You could be injured, need your medicine refilled, or you may accidentally break your glasses or lose your contact lenses. Having that info on a cloud server or an external drive will give you immediate access, so you can quickly fix the problem.

3. Find Out The Rules And Regulations For Moving Pets

Moving pets can be tricky, because different countries have different rules about pet vaccination and quarantining. Make sure you know what you’re up against, make the necessary arrangements and you have the necessary documentation. This is another tip that seems logical, but people often don’t realize how long it may take for insurance, shipping and customs clearance documentation to process. You don’t want to set a moving day, only to  find out you can’t cross the border, because your documentation isn’t in order.
